Configuring the Anthropic Connector

Anthropic Claude-1 and Claude-Instant 1 are advanced language models designed to assist developers in generating high-quality text. Developed by AI researchers, these models provide a strong foundation for natural language understanding and generation, enabling innovative applications and advancements in AI language technology.

The XO Platform lets you easily connect with the Anthropic Claude-1 and Claude-Instant 1 models to leverage their capabilities and safety across various LLM features supported on the XO Platform. Learn more about Anthropic models.

This article explains how to enable the models for the following LLM features currently supported on the XO Platform:

To make the integration process smoother for developers and customers, the Kore.ai XO Platform supports authorization via API Key for Anthropic models. Learn more.

Anthropic Integration Setup

Prerequisites:

Before setting up the Anthropic Model, please complete the following prerequisites:

  1. If you already have an Anthropic developer account, log in by providing your credentials. Otherwise, sign up by following the steps below:
  • Send a developer account sign-up request by filling out a form here.
  • Once you receive an email confirmation from Anthropic, click the activation link to access your account. Please note down your credentials once your account is created.
  1. To generate an API Key, visit this link. Copy the API Key of your Anthropic account and keep it for future use to enable the integration. To generate the API key, follow the steps below:
  • Log in to the web console using your email and password.
  • Navigate to the Account Settings section and click Generate API Keys.
  • Click Create Key.
  • Click the Copy icon. The API key will be your access credential to utilize the Claude API in your applications.
  1. Configure the Anthropic connector under Integration Setup.

Once you have created an Anthropic AI service and copied the required credentials, you can enable the integration.

Important: Access to Anthropic’s API keys is restricted to the users who are members of an organization that has previously registered and been approved for access to Anthropic’s Claude 1 models. Registration is a prerequisite for API key usage.

Steps to Configure the Anthropic Connector

  1. Go to Build > Natural Language > Advanced NLU Settings.
  2. Click Configure Now for the Anthropic connector under Integration Setup.
  3. In the resulting window, click the Authorization tab.
  4. Provide the API Key (The secret API key of your Anthropic AI service, which you copied in Step 2 under Prerequisites) required to connect to the Virtual Assistant and access the external services securely.

Note: The XO Platform uses the configured API Key to authorize via a test API call and generate the suggestions from Anthropic.

  1. Provide your consent to enable the Integration after reading the policy guidelines.
  2. Click Save.

The integration status changes from Configure Now to X/Y models configured, where X is the number of models configured, and Y is the number of models available.

The following LLM features are available by default for Anthropic Claude-1 and Anthropic Claude-Instant-1. They automatically change to Active state once the model is configured. The features not available remain in the Inactive state.
