This node type has been introduced in v. 9.0 of the XO Platform.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This article takes you through the functionality of the primary Bot Action node. For information on contained nodes, please see their respective documentation.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div>\n<h1><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Features\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Features<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Bot Action Node allows you to:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ability to manage the actions that the VA needs to perform without user intervention.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Acts as a container for nodes relevant to the actions that the VA needs to perform. This simplifies the management process for the entire assistant, by allowing developers to designate specific nodes to specific actions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div>\n<h1><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Add_the_Node\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Add the Node<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setting up a Bot Action node in a dialog task involves the following steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Open the dialog task to which you want to add the Bot Action node.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Add the Bot Action node in the designated place. For steps related to adding nodes, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/developer.kore.ai\/v10-1\/docs\/bots\/chatbot-overview\/using-the-dialog-builder-tool\/#Adding_Nodes\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">refer here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Bot Action&nbsp; node Properties panel is displayed with the <\/span><strong>Component Properties<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> tab selected by default.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can use the <\/span><strong>+<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\/<\/span><strong>&ndash;<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> against the node to <\/span><strong>Expand\/Collapse<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the node<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once you expand a Bot Action node, you have the option to add various nodes &ndash; service, script, webhook, logic and\/or process nodes. For details related to the legacy dialog builder, please <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/developer.kore.ai\/v10-1\/v8-1\/docs\/bots\/bot-builder-tool\/dialog-task\/working-with-the-logic-node\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">refer here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"w-separator size_medium with_line width_default thick_1 style_solid color_border align_center\"><div class=\"w-separator-h\"><\/div><\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Component_Properties\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Component Properties<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<table style=\"background-color: #fffbea;width: 100%\" width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"100%\">\n<p><strong><em>Note<\/em><\/strong><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: All changes made to the Component Properties tab will affect all instances of the node, across Dialog Tasks.&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To configure the Component Properties tab, please follow the steps below:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the <\/span><strong>Component Properties<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> tab, under the <\/span><strong>General Settings<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> section, you can modify the <\/span><strong>Name<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><strong>Display Name<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and <\/span><strong>Description <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of the node<\/span><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the <\/span><strong>Variable Namespaces<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> section (v8.0), associate the variable namespaces to execute this node and its transitions. This option is visible only when the variable namespace is enabled for the assistant. You can go with the task level settings or customize it for this node. You can select any of the nodes in this Bot Action group.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Bot Action Group Connections<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Choose the nodes to be initiated after executing the Bot Action group. You can select any of the nodes outside this Bot Action group.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For Bot Action Group Connections, you can configure <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If-Else<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> conditions. The primary nodes panel will be replaced with the Bot Action nodes panel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Bot Action node shows all of its containing nodes as a group. Add any node from here, using either the <\/span><strong>&ldquo;+&rdquo; <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sign or drag and drop. Bot Action nodes provide the following options: On the left side of the node there is an <\/span><strong>Expand (+) <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">button if the node is collapsed, and a <\/span><strong>Collapse (-)<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> button if the node is expanded.
