To add the Facebook Messenger channel to your Virtual Assistant, you need a Facebook Developer<\/b> account. With this account, you can configure the connection between Facebook Messenger and Kore.ai. Enabling the Facebook Messenger Channel on the Bot Builder helps your users chat with the Virtual Assistant using their Facebook<\/b> accounts.<\/p>\n

The steps to enable this channel are simple and summarized below:<\/p>\n

  1. Create and set up a Facebook Messenger App<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Configure the Webhook<\/i> or Callback URL<\/i> to send and receive messages<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Subscribe to the app on the Facebook page using the Client ID<\/i> and Client Secret<\/i><\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. Submit the App for Approval.<\/a><\/li>\n
  5. Enable the channel and complete the configuration on the Kore.ai XO Platform<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n

    Step 1: Create and Set up a Facebook Messenger App<\/span><\/h2>\n

    1. Log in to the Facebook Developer Portal<\/a> and click the My Apps<\/b> top menu option.<\/li>\n

      1. In the My Apps<\/b> section, click Create App<\/b>.<\/li>\n

      2. In the Select an App Type<\/b> window, select the Business<\/b> tab, and click Next<\/b>.<\/li>\n

      3. In the Details<\/b> section, enter the required details, and click Create App<\/b>.<\/li>\n

      4. Provide your account password in the Please re-enter your password<\/b> window when prompted, and click Submit<\/b>.<\/li>\n
      5. Your App is now created and you are redirected to the Add products to your app<\/b> page.<\/li>\n

      10. In the Token Generated<\/b> window, select I understand<\/b> and click Copy<\/b> to copy the page Access Token.<\/li>\n

      12. Copy the Page ID<\/b> of the Facebook page.<\/li>\n

      13. On the Kore.ai XO Platform, navigate to Deploy<\/b> > Channels<\/b> > Facebook Messenger<\/b>.<\/li>\n

      14. Click the Configurations<\/b> tab, and paste the Page Access Token<\/b> and Page ID<\/b> values you\u2019ve copied.<\/li>\n

      15. Navigate to Settings<\/b> > Basic<\/b> and configure the Privacy Policy URL<\/b> and Terms of Service URL<\/b> fields for the app.<\/li>\n

      17. Enable the deployment of the app by changing App Mode: Development<\/b> to Live<\/b>.<\/li>\n

        2. On the Messenger Settings<\/b> page of the Facebook Developer Portal, click Add Callback URL<\/b>.<\/li>\n

        3. Paste the copied values in the Edit Callback URL<\/b> window, and click Verify and Save<\/b>.<\/li>\n

        4. The webhook URL<\/i> is successfully set up.<\/li>\n
        5. Click Add Subscriptions<\/b>.<\/li>\n

        6. Select messages<\/i><\/b>, messaging_postbacks<\/i><\/b>, messaging_optins<\/i><\/b>, message_deliveries<\/i><\/b>, and message_reads<\/i><\/b> in the Edit Page Subscriptions<\/b> window to select the webhook services.<\/li>\n

            Step 5: Enable the Channel<\/span><\/h2>\n

            On the Kore.ai XO Platform, enable the Facebook Messenger<\/b> channel to complete the integration. To enable follow the steps below:<\/p>\n

            1. Navigate to Deploy<\/b> > Channels<\/b> > Facebook Messenger<\/b>.<\/li>\n
            2. Click the Configurations<\/b> tab, and select YES<\/i><\/b> for Enable Channel<\/b>.<\/li>\n
