This article lists and answers some basic questions about upgrades for the Bots for Workforce platform.

What are Bots?

Bots are lightweight programs that communicate with applications or business systems on your behalf to get stuff done. An easy-to-use conversational interface enables users to talk to systems just like you talk to people using Natural Language Processing, or NLP.

What are Bots for your Workforce?

Bots for your Workforce enables a company to enhance its customers’ digital experience on the Bots Platform when they use custom-built Bots created using the Kore.ai Bot Builder tool. For more information, see the Bot Builder Tool.

Custom Bots are assigned to users in your company using the Bots Admin console. For more information, see the Bots Admin Console.
Based on your plan, you can assign anywhere between one and an unlimited number of Bots to each user.

What is the Bot Store?

The Kore.ai Bot Store is where your employees and customers can find our extensive library of built-in Bots for apps and services that you already rely on to get your work done. Useful tasks that are commonly performed via apps and services have been built into each Bot by Kore.ai engineers, eliminating the need for users to manually complete many actions they perform on a daily basis.
You can get any number of bots from the Bot Store, free of charge.

Note: Bots available on the Bot Store are already built based on popular apps and services. To build custom bots, you must create your Bots using the Kore.ai Bot Builder tool. For more information, see the Bot Builder Tool.

What upgrade plans are available?

Kore.ai offers a free plan and three upgrade plans for Bots for your workforce. With the free plan, you can build one custom Bot for up to 10 workforce users.
With upgrade plans in three tiers, you can assign one or more bots to any number of users, and manage those users with the Bots Admin Console. Custom Bots are assigned to users in your company using the Bots Admin console. For more information, see the Bots Admin Console.

What type of payment plans are offered?

If you upgrade your account, Kore.ai offers both monthly and annual payment plans. When subscribing to an annual payment plan, you will receive a discounted rate which equates to paying for only ten months rather than twelve months each year.
When you subscribe for an upgrade plan through our sales team, you are enrolled in a fixed subscription plan. Customers who sign up for Kore.ai accounts though our Kore.ai Sales team can enroll in automated plans to accomodate a specific number of new users for a minimum of one year.

How do I pay for upgrades?

How does billing work?

Billing is based on your selected upgrade tier and may vary from month-to-month depending on the number of tasks completed by your customers. Billing is paid in advance when you create an account and choose an upgraded tier.
Once subscribed to an upgraded tier, you are billed based on your payment plan as monthly or annual. If you exceed the number of executed tasks in the selected tier upgrade, any overages are billed to your account at the beginning of each new month.

Note: You are billed only based on the number of tasks consumed and NOT on the number of custom bots.

How is billing handled when I Add or Remove a custom bot user?

Customers who sign up for the Kore.ai Bots Platform for their workforce using the Kore.ai website and choose to add a new user before the billing period, either as monthly or annual, ends will receive a pro-rated price for the new user for that billing period. Similarly, when a user is removed from the plan, the remaining balance for the remaining billing period is added back to the account as a discount credit.

How is billing handled when I assign a Custom Bot to a workforce user?

Your account is charged only when custom bots are assigned to users. When you either assign or cancel an assigned custom Bot for a user managed using the Bots Admin Console, your plan may change according to your billing preferences. For plan changes, a user is moved to the qualifying tier at the beginning of the next billing cycle.
The amount charged is dependent on which tier your users fall under based on current custom bot assignments. Your users will automatically be moved to higher or lower tiers if necessary and your account will be charged based on remaining days in the billing period.
If a user is on a higher tier and you cancel assigned custom bots, those users are automatically placed in the lower tier at the next billing cycle. Each billing cycle, Kore.ai determines how many users are currently assigned custom bots and places them in relevant tiers.

Can I change upgrade plans?

You want to modify your Kore.ai upgrade plan or change your payment method. For Bots for your Workforce, you are billed based on the number of custom bots assigned to workforce users. Your plan is automatically changed based on that number at the beginning of each month.
Changes in upgrade plans can also be made for accounts on annual payment plans, however, the current commitment must be fulfilled and the change is only applied at the beginning of the next annual billing cycle. You can manage the number of users and the number of assigned Bots in the Bot Admin Console. For more information, see the Bots Admin Console.
If you change your enterprise account from a paid plan to a free plan, all of your custom built Bots will continue to work until the limit of one custom Bot per user, and limit for assignment of a custom Bot to 10 users is reached for the free plan.
Refunds are not available for upgrade accounts changing to a free plan.
