After you select or create a Bot in Bot Builder, you can add an alert task to the Bot. For more information, see Creating a Bot.
Each alert task can have several pages of configuration depending on the Connection Type of the alert task that you define. This topic describes how to configure the general settings for an alert task the General tab. For more information about the process of creating an alert task, see About Alert Tasks.
Configuring the General Settings
- Open the bot in which you want to create the Alert Task.
- Hover over the side navigation panel of the bot, and click Bot Tasks.
- On the Bot Tasks page, hover over the Action Task tab and click the plus icon.
- Enter a name for the task, which also doubles up as the display name. Bot Store uses the display name of the task. You can change the display name if needed. The Create Alert Task dialog opens.
- Enter the following details for the task:
To configure the advanced settings for the task, expand the section and enter the relevant details.
The following table describes the optional fields in the Advanced Settings section on the General tab.
|Task Install Confirmation Message||The message displayed to the end-user when the task is successfully set up.|
|Turn Off Confirmation Messages||Select Yes to disable confirmation of the execution of a task when using NLP. When No is selected, the user is asked to confirm the task before running it. For more information, see the Natural Language Processing Guide.|
|Search Keywords||Specify one or more search words an end-user can use to help locate this task in the Kore.ai Bot Store.|
|Mapped Only Action Task||Select to only display this action task to an end-user if mapped from another task in a flow. When Yes is selected, the action task is not visible in an end-user search for action tasks.|
|Task Demo Link||Enter a www.youtube.com link, for example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB3P7kDKXZ4, to display a task demo icon next to the task displayed in the Bot Store.
After you define your alert task settings, and then click Continue, you may need to set up authentication to access the Bot, if required. For more information, see API Request Tab – Authentication Settings for an Alert Task.
If authentication is not required, the next step is to define one or more request objects used to request data from the Bot. The specific configuration settings for a request object are based on the Connection Type that you define for the alert task. For more information, see:
